Domaine d'Aussières
A d'Aussières Rouge
IGP Pays D'Oc
A true Pays d’Oc red with Bordelais flair–mainly Syrah, Cabernet Franc, and Cabernet Sauvignon, this wine is blended from the breadth of the domaine’s holdings. Domaine d’Aussière’s cool microclimate contributes to the signature freshness of the wine, while the Bordeaux varieties are particularly suited to the flatter, lower lying parts of the estate and their deeper soils with underlying sandy silt. The soft, harmonious tannins envelop a core of mild spices, blackcurrant, red cherry and fresh fig.
Vineyard
A portion of the grapes come from flatter, lower lying parts of the estate. The rest comes from the coldest parts of the appellation. The deeper soils with underlying sandy silt provide the optimal growing conditions varietals associated with the Bordeaux region.
Tasting Note
Notes of blackcurrant, mild spices, hints of chocolate, red cherry, blackberry and fresh fig. The tannins are soft and harmonious.
Vintage
After a mild winter, spring rains allowed for good start to gestation, and a dry summer followed without any heat spikes. Harvest commenced September 23rd.
